2-Pack Medium Split Elk Antler Dog Chew

I have purchased quite a few of the whole elk antlers in the past from Mountain Dog Chews, and my 2 small pups seemed very happy with them. After reading a bit more about the antlers on this site, I decided to try a larger size split elk antler. I only ordered 2...one for each of my dogs to see if they liked them as well. Two good sized antlers were delivered, and both dogs went for them immediately. However, they both were interested in the same one. I thought this was just a bit of "I want what you have", so took both away that night. The next two days, I gave them back to the dogs, and each time, they both went back for the same one. It's been about a week now, and one have most of the marrow gone, but the other is almost perfect. For some reason, they just don't want that one.

i have been purchasing a number of different split antlers for my PBGV. some are better than others, some last longer than others, and some splinter more than others. then i happened across MountainDogChews, and there is no going back. she absolutely loves these splits! and she is not shy about "attacking" them! i will keep buying this brand from now on!

Dexter absolutely loves his elk antler and it has lasted us 3 weeks so far. He is an aggressive chewer and is unable to finish his antler in one sitting which makes this worth buying.

My Goldens, Maddie and Bailey love these. They've been Mountain Dog Elk Antler dogs since they were 6 months old. They just turned 2 and as usual they both want the same one to start. After a day they trade off until one's gone, then they start on another one together. Sisters, go figure.

I was getting a new dog from a shelter and while I was ordering this antler from Mountain Dogs I had to go and buy him a temporary chew at the big pet store. I wasn't pleased with quality of antlers at the store - they all looked white which, from all my research, means they are not fresh. And then this chew comes - it looks all brown and clearly very fresh, almost like it was just picked up in the woods. And guess which chew my dog prefers now? His old chew from the store now just lies there and he chews on this one - so apparently the dog "knows" the difference.

My son's dog, Elsa, loves this antler chew. She's a small-medium sized dog so I ordered a medium split elk antler. She has worked hard on it and has almost chewed all of the inside of the antler. Previous antler chews were not purchased from Mountain Dog Chews and splintered right away. We had to dispose of them way too soon. After talking with a nice man at Mountain Dog Chews I learned that their antlers are from sheds during the spring of the year - consequently they are fresh and not dry and brittle. We will not make these purchases from any pet store again - ONLY MOUNTAIN DOG CHEWS.

These are a great price for medium-sized, center-cut antlers. Usually, I have to pay $25.00 at my pet store for comparable antlers, and the ones sold at Petco/Pet Smart are less quality and more expensive. Only problem is that these are not as "fresh" as the ones sold at my pet store (they buy them whole and split them), so my dog will lose interest a little quicker. The upside is that they last longer, and the "fresh" ones from the pet store last maybe two or three days since my dog will work on them for hours. Mountain Dog Chews Reply Thank you for your review. We source all of our elk antlers in the spring after the elk shed them in March and April. All our antlers come from Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Idaho. Given the Elk only shed their antlers once a year and we cut the antlers ourselves here as the orders come in, they are as fresh as you can get. Right now all the elk antlers we are cutting for Dog Chews are from the 2016 spring shedding season, the antlers are stored in proper conditions to retain freshness and again, we cut daily to ensure the outgoing products are as fresh as possible. Could it be that the antlers from your pet store that your dog is able to chew quickly are not necessarily more fresh, but simply lighter weight and less dense which typically means Dogs will consume more antler daily because of the softer antler? Most retailers have no idea where their antlers come from or how old they really are. We are involved in the sourcing and processing of the antlers from the beginning to the end, and are able to control the quality to a much greater extent than anyone else in the industry.

I've been purchasing elk antlers for my maltese shih tzu for over a year, and have been an extremely satisfied customer. My family recently adopted a new dog member of the family, a siberian husky. Knowing that she would need a larger size, I ordered the medium for her and the small for my Malshi. The medium is far larger than expected, but is the perfect size for a growing (and chewing) husky! Now if I could only convince them to not fight over each other's antlers...

The first purchase I made was a whole peice, so I thought for sure my dog would like the split. He does not. It just lays on the floor while he chews away at the other 2 items I purchased. I love your product. It gives me peace of mind knowing my dog is chewing on something good for him. Like I said in my review of the mini moose, I am glad I found you, will be buying more as needed.
